730 E US HWY 84, Goldthwaite TX 76844

The Mitchell Place presents a rare opportunity to own a legacy property with excellent hunting opportunities, large, old-growth oak groves, two seasonal stock tanks, rolling pastures, and frontage on U.S. Highway 84. The 121-acre ranch has been owned by the same family for 130 years and was recognized in 2005 by the Texas Family Land Heritage Program for more than a century of continuous agricultural production.

Located seven miles east of Goldthwaite in Mills County, the Mitchell Place is bounded by U.S. Highway 84 on the north. Approximately two hours’ drive from Austin, an hour from Waco, and about 2.5 hours from Fort Worth, the ranch offers outstanding investment and recreational potential.

The terrain ranges from grassy pastures and terraced fields to thick stands of live oaks and post oaks, which provide excellent habitat for whitetail deer, turkey, dove, quail, and hogs. The current owners have leased the property for hunting and currently have a grazing lease in place.

The property includes a 4-bedroom frame house and an operating water well with recently replaced pumps and motor. While in need of updating and some repair, the house would make a fine weekend or hunter’s retreat or caretaker’s house. Additionally, there are several excellent potential home sites throughout the ranch.
